Does the earth really rotate around the sun?
What we learned in school regarding the rotation of the earth and sun may not be the case. Prior to Capernius and Galileo around the 15th century the thinking was that the sun rose in the east and rotated around the earth. After all that is what the Bible seemed to teach. God said to Job "Where were you when I hung the foundations of the earth" and other passages. Galileo and Capernius were able to persuade some others that the sun was fixed and that the earth rotates around the sun. They had no conclusive scientific evidence of this and to this day remains just a theory. This theory now has wide acceptance and is accepted as fact. Surely the the fact that man made satellites are in orbit is sufficient proof that the earth rotates around the sun other wise how could the satellites be in orbit? It turns out that the laws of planetary motion hold no mater if the earth is thought held stationery or the sun is thought stationary. I personally would like to see more of this discussion unford as I like this kind of stuff
